Assessment

The Lichfield Group offers its clients meticulous political and business risk assessment reports.

Country Risk Assessment & Management Reports

Political and legal landscapes and incertitudes are pronounced business risks. Nontransparent laws or regulations, a corrupt or biased judiciary, an unfriendly government, fragile protection of private property, monetary trickery, confiscatory decrees, whimsical labor strictures, banking and public utility manipulations, and ill-conceived commercial codes hike the costs and risks of investment. The Lichfield Group prepares country risk assessment and corresponding management strategy reports to facilitate enlightened investment and operational business decisions.

The country risk reports evaluate the current political scene and trends; potential sharp changes in business policy; tax, labor, commercial, bankruptcy, antitrust, immigration, customs and regulatory codes; the integrity of administrative or judicial bodies; legislative or executive meddling in private enterprise; fiscal and monetary policy; and, foreign trade and investment laws.

The country reports further proposes strategies to forestall or overcome business problems. The public or private personages who wield pivotal power in the business arena are listed, including government officials, media owners, and leaders of non-governmental organizations. Suggestions are made of avenues to approach and influence the power elite with discretion and irreproachable ethics. The political and social culture of the country is examined with an eye towards building public good will and averting unwitting affronts to common sentiments or morals. Potential critics or criticism are identified with ideas to preempt or to counteract anticipated adversity.

The reports also evaluate two additional countries to enable a prudent comparison of alternative investment or business strategies bottomed on country risk.

The reports are custom tailored and issued in binders that can be updated monthly or quarterly. Immediate crisis management analyses are also prepared to address business emergencies.
